ALUPROF SA at the 2021 BAU ONLINE Fair

The 2021 BAU international construction industry fair took from 13th to 15th January. Because of the epidemiological threat, it was held on an Internet platform as the BAU ONLINE Fair. No event of the kind would be complete without one of Europe’s key suppliers of aluminium systems, Polish company ALUPROF S.A., which was one of the sponsors of this year’s pioneering fair.

Unfortunately, the global pandemic forced the organisers and exhibitors to give up the traditional form of presentation and transfer the entire fair to the virtual world, meaning that the 2021 edition was held on an online platform. This provided visitors with safe access to the very latest in the construction sector without leaving their offices.

BAU ONLINE turned out to be a significant event for the sector. A total of two hundred and seventy companies from twenty-nine countries took part. Attendance was free of charge. All visitors needed to do was register in the system, which gave them full access to the MyBAU platform, where they could arrange video conferences with exhibitors and attend product presentations. They also received access to the catalogue of the participating companies, their work and their products. In addition, users could take part in seminars held by Messe München. The conference programme addressed the most important current topics, including digitisation, the challenges presented by changes to the climate, resources and recycling, the future of residential building and the impact of the coronavirus on architecture and urbanisation.

Let’s Build a Better Future”. ALUPROF’s talks and presentations

ALUPROF S.A. marked its presence at the fair with a slogan, “Let’s Build a Better Future”, which clearly spells out the message the company set out to convey. It held nine webinars, during which, its speakers presented not only its approach to the concepts of responsible design and building, but also its latest systems and innovations.

Aleksandra Baksik, ALUPROF S.A.’s Brand and Sustainable Development Manager provides more detail:

During the talks, we discussed the threefold responsibility of businesses, in other words, environmental, social and economic responsibility. Sustainability in development and the supply chain is the future of the construction industry. Within this concept, we presented the benefits that spring from designing green buildings and their impact on the architecture of contemporary cities and towns. By way of inspiring our audiences, we presented international projects featuring ALUPROF systems, like the Mennica Legacy Tower in Warsaw, the SARA Kulturhus, an aluminium and wood tower block in Sweden and Number 61 Ninth Avenue in New York’s Manhattan.

The company’s presentations covered its most popular and its most technologically advanced aluminium architectural systems. One of the systems which aroused enormous interest was the ALUPROF MB-104 PASSIVE window and door system, which features the highest possible thermal insulation, meeting every requirement for elements used in passive building.

When it came to façades, the company’s experts guided their audiences through the properties of its most popular products, the MB-SR50N and the versions with enhanced thermal insulation, the MB-SR50N HI and the MB-SR50N HI+. They also covered the MB-SR50N EFEKT, the aesthetic variant which makes it possible to obtain the effect of a building’s exterior created from a single sheet of glass.

The presentations on the ALUPROF smoke ventilation and fire-rated systems and their role in making a building safe were a focus of particular interest, as were those on designing with BIM technology.
