New Environmental Product Declarations for Aluprof SA

The company Aluprof, Europe’s leading manufacturer and distributor of aluminium architectural systems, obtained a Type III Environmental Declaration for its window, door and facade systems.

Recognised worldwide, the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independent certification that presents information about the lifecycle of a product’s environmental impacts. It is awarded based on an assessment that aims to reduce the negative impact of a product on the environment. The international EPD system is a global initiative for environmental declarations in which the experts from the Building Research Institute, together with an auditor, make an objective assessment and verification of all processes to ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards, considering, among others, the amount of waste generated during production, the level of water consumption or energy consumption of the entire process.

The sustainable development of our company is of great importance to us. With this in mind, we applied for an independent, type III certification for our aluminium profiles. Following our previous achievements, and as a company that sets new market trends, we decided to apply for certification for yet another products, such as, door, window and facade systems. Positive consideration of our declaration by the jury is also a major breakthrough for our customers. Thanks to this, not only do they have a better chance of receiving green building certification, such as BREEAM or LEED, but it also makes it easier for them to make informed decisions when buying our products, and thus reducing the negative impact of buildings on the environment – says Małgorzata Wojtasik, Aluprof SA’s Chief Commercial Officer.
