ALUPROF PARTNERS THE GREEN BUILDING SYPOSIUM

The 9th Green Building Symposium, organised by the Polish Green Building Council (PLGBC), which is a member of the World Green Building Council, will be held on 3rd October. The symposium is the largest and most influential green building event in Poland and ALUPROF is one of its partners. This year’s programme will feature four topic-focused sessions, talks, case studies, panel discussions and presentations of game changers.

Driving Positive Change is the watchword for the 9th PLGBC Green Building Symposium. In this era of climate change, the challenge is ensuring a sustainable future. Immediate action is of the essence and one crucial element of positive change is green building.

The symposium is a permanent fixture on the PLGBC’s calendar. Almost four hundred attendees from Poland and abroad will be taking part this year. The keynote speakers will include:

  • Professor Ewa Kuryłowicz of architectural design studio Kuryłowicz & Associates;

  • Ewelina Jaskulska, the founder of architectural design studio ARTECTONICA, who was selected as one of “promising and emerging design talents” featured on the 2019 Europe 40 Under 40® list compiled by the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies;

  • Cédric Anbergen, representing BSolutions and the Belgium-based CAP Construction cluster.

The topics which will be addressed in first session, Better Places for People, include the impact that sustainable office buildings have on the health, comfort and productivity of the people who work in them. Another interesting point on this part of the programme is the innovation battle, in other words, the proptech solutions shaping sustainable buildings. The second session, Driving Positive Change: Leadership, will provide insights into the effects of joining forces for the sake of collaboration and for both a better future and a better life. Buildings Are Like People, the third session, will examine the need for buildings which offer a high quality of life, respect the natural environment and are economically effective at one and the same time. The final session, Designing the Future: Circular Buildings, will focus on transformational shifts towards a circular economy and the new role of buildings.

The PLGBC has been supporting the construction sector in Poland for eleven years now by evolving the design, construction and use of buildings based on the elements of sustainable development. The council’s ongoing dedication to this aim can also be seen in the fact that the symposium will be followed by the 2019 PLGBC Green Building Awards ceremony. The awards are intended to identify and honour the best green buildings, interiors, products and ecological initiatives in Poland. The exceptional and outstanding members of this year’s jury members include Professor Ewa Kuryłowicz, Robert Konieczny, Wojciech Małecki and ALUPROF’s Architect General Elżbieta Dziubak.

The PLGBC Green Building Symposium is a chance for an encounter with the most committed of architects, estate agents and construction industry professionals. By the same token, it is also an effective platform for collaboration, and the exchange of innovative ideas and practical solutions in dynamic surroundings. There will be an exhibitors’ zone, a conference zone, a networking zone and a number of side events.

This year’s edition of the PLGBC Green Building Symposium is supported by numerous patrons and partners.
