ALUPROF fights the virus and supports heroes

In order to adapt to the current situation and to guarantee the required support to current and future customers, all customer service departments in ALUPROF work on an ongoing basis. The company has implemented appropriate procedures, taking the recommended precautions in order to ensure the safety of employees. However, the manufacturer of aluminium systems from Bielsko-Biała goes one step further — the company financially supports medical institutions, produces face visors and provides other means of protection for hospitals.

Grupa Kęty and its largest subsidiaries ALUPROF and Alupol Packaging will allocate a total of PLN 600,000 to help medical facilities in the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic. The single-profile COVID-19 hospital in Tychy and Emergency Service in Bielsko Biała received PLN 200,000 each from the company.

Direct financial support from ALUPROF was provided to: Provincial Hospital and Pediatric Hospital in Bielsko-Biała, Provincial Hospital in Opole, County Hospital in Chrzanów and Public Clinical Hospital No. 2 in Szczecin. The provided financial assistance will make it possible to purchase the necessary personal protective equipment for staff and patients and to support activities aimed at preventing and combating the pandemic.

– We hope that provided funds will contribute to support the most urgent needs of hospitals. We believe that by acting together, we will be able to control the pandemic and minimize its effects – comments Tomasz Grela, President of the Management Board of ALUPROF.

Therefore, ALUPROF establishes additional rules of assistance for the purchase of emergency protection equipment for the staff of the surrounding hospitals. This type of help has already been provided to the Silesian Hospital in Cieszyn, to which ALUPROF has donated 2000 of protective masks for the staff, thanks to which the fight against the coronavirus pandemic will be safer for doctors.

Production of face visors

Having at its disposal modern machinery and advanced technology, as well as relying on the knowledge and experience of its employees, the production of protective face visors on a larger scale has begun in ALUPROF's plants in Goleszów and Złotów, thus supporting the most needy medical facilities throughout the country. The company will produce 12,000 pieces of personal protective equipment that will be submitted free of charge to directly concerned facilities. Previously, in ALUPROF's plant in Bielsko-Biała, the production of face visors on a 3D printer was launched, thus responding to the needs of the company's employees, who are particularly vulnerable to contact with other people, e.g. when receiving deliveries to the warehouse.

In addition, as part of its internal activities, the company has introduced several security procedures and preventive measures at its headquarters, production facilities and subsidiaries. Working from home has been introduced where possible. All employees were provided with means to disinfect hands and workstations, temperature measurements at facilities are also possible, disinfectant sprays of common parts in offices and production halls were introduced, and organisational units were divided into safety zones to limit contacts between employees to the necessary minimum.

Fight against the virus

ALUPROF also stresses the importance of actions that we ourselves can and should take to reduce the epidemiological risk. Stay at home if possible! Follow hygiene rules, wash your hands frequently (for at least 20 seconds), avoid touching the area around your face and minimise contact with outsiders to a minimum. It is also important to support and take care of people at risk, especially the elderly. If you had contact with an infected person — immediately contact the appropriate sanitary and epidemiological station.
